SYRIANS' DISPUTE.
The Habib Case.
The Supreme-Court, consisting of the
Chief Justice and Mr. Acting Justice
Buchanan, resumed on Wednesday the
hearing of an appeal against a judgment of
the late Mr. Justice Homburg iu tbe case
of William Stiethey Habib. formerly a
hawker of 102 Waymouth street, Adelaide,
v. Assaf Habib, a storekeeper, of 91 Waymouth
street. The origin j hpajing came
before .the Civil Court in July, and again
in, October. 1911. Plaintiff claimed £796
10/, alleged to be owing from defendant in
connection' with a hotel partnership agreement
which had-not been cqmplctbd owing
to a local option vote. . In Jiis judgment,
which was delivered on January IS last,
the laie 3If. Justice Hoinburg iound in
favour of pliintiff for tfie sunt of £7(j6 10/
and costs, and ordered . that /defendanl

counterclaim. The main groupd of the
appeal io the Supreme Court was that die
judgment was against the weight of evidence.
