ET. ANTHONY'S APPEAL.
Successful Function at Toorak
In view of the inclemency of the
weather the fete organised at "Brorii-
ley," Irving-road, Toorok, the home of
Mrs. W. J. Wchrne, to aid St. Anthony's
Home appeal, was a surprising success.
llio stalls, instead of being arranged
in the grounds, were set? up on the
spacious verandahs, and to provide addi
tional amusement several rooms were set
aside for those desiring to play cards.
The flower stall, presided over by Mrs.
Bernard Nolan, Alius Afnrie do Bavay- and
Aliss Eileen Byrne, was stocked -with a
wealth of blooms, picturesquely vivid
against the sombre greynoss of the
day.
Thp novelty stall was stocked with
amusing novelties, ond did much brisk
business witli quaint boat race favors.
This stall was in charge of Airs. J. P.
Casey and Airs. A. Boardman, whilst the
sweet stall was presided over hv Mrs. T.
M. Burke and Airs. AI. MaeGillkuddy.
During the afternoon a musical , pro
gramme, arranged by Aliss Vera Carew,
gave mtich pleasure. The artists in
cluded Mr. J. Good till, Miss Vera Carew,
Aliss Eileen Castles. Air. Baxter, Air. O.
Bradley, Ah. II. Bradley, Aliss Alollio
Warden, Mr. W. Kirby, ATiss Alarie
McGunn and the Sisserman Quartet.
Afternoon tea was provided by Mrs.
Woiivne, who superintended the serving
of -it; Airs. Wearne was assisted by Airs.
W. -M. Kobins and about 29 .helpers. i

Airs. P. Finn, .who acted as ticket secrc
taries. .
