A THRILLING GAME.

ingly good form, ' the Northern . Tasmanian Asso
ciation leani (captained' by-t IV. J. 'Adams) de
feated Fitzroy; by seven points in a thrilling
game played at I>aunecst6n this afternoon. It
was. probably the. moat- spectacular match of the
year. Daring high marking, and accurate pass-
ing characterised the work of both teams, par
ticularly Fitrroy, who maintained a load up. to
tho closing few minute. ' «
The visitors led by two goals at half-time, and
by three goals ut the final change. Tho Tas-

live minutes Mt to pluy evened tlio scores. There
was then thrilling; football to the close.
A point to Northern Tusmuniu gave thcra tlie
lead. Fitzroy regained it with a . goal, the
second, from their only , two scoring opportuni
ties of the. quarter.'- Effective defence by the Tas-
maniuns resisted further Fitzroy -aggression, and
then, two goals in quick succemion lo Northern
Tasmania, placed the issue beyond doubt. The
