moonlight Buy trip, in aid of the New Zealand

quest for permission to hold teams walking races
at the inicr-club dporte, but owing to the very
congested programme now being curried out

tor sanction to hold 100 yards, 220 yards and ssu
yards events nt the annual picnic at Mounee
Valley on 2nd Janu.uy next.
A auggeetion by Mr. L. V. Hudge, that coun
try associations be formed, as it was very diffi
cult for clubs in the country to get sufficient
encouragement and support from Melbourne, waa
keenly discussed. 11 was felt that there were
good points in the suggestion, which waa re
ferred to a sub-committee, consisting of Messrs.
Jumieson, Scott .and Wilson, to report to the
next meeting.
It wus expected that definite Infonnatio'n would
be placed before the meeting vegarding the pro-
posed visit of the famous middle-distance run
ner, Dr. Peltzer, but no word has yet beon re
ceived,: in reply to the invitation which was
sent. -Private advices received in Melbourne
showed that there was every probability of the
visit eventuating, eo that the executive will
deal with the matter as occasion arisc-s.
