Association.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE AGE. '
Sir,—I am directed by my executive to
convey to 4 you tho appreciation of our
association for your courtesy and publicity
given to our first public meeting at St.
jfcilda last night. This association is
tive Of fifteen acts in a pureiy lu/uuioij «
capacity. Owing to the overwhelming sue-
cess of last night's meeting, our executive
has decided to hold bi-weekly meetings in.;
tlie suburbs of Melbourne until each bmbH"
cipality has been covered, and we will
again ask the support of your paper to
bring such meetings, nfld the results of
same, before the property owners con- fl
cernocl. '
In conclusion, ifc gives niot greafc plensro m
to refer to the gracious action of Camber- W
well council, which (as repotted in your
paper, received a. letter from our body
protcstiig against any further loans for
private road construetion) saw fit at lis S
meeting this week to decide to pass no fl
further loans of this description without S
first obtaining the consent of the rate-
payers concerned. This association deeply fl
appreciates this attitude, and feels sure fl
that such actions must culminate in better
conditions for property owners nnd easier
financing of councils. — Yours, &C., fl
