ALBERT PARK YACHT CLUB,
It having been resolved by this club to holu
sailing matches every week throughout the season,
on last Saturday, although n dead calm, and tho
weather being too fine for sailing, the undermen
tioned yachts loft or rather drifted from tho
starting-point at a quarter to three in tho follow
ing order
-Mystery, Captain It. Heard, position No. 1
Liariauno, Captain O. Kuight „ -
Pearl, Captaiu J. Hitl '
Crculot the Wave, Captain E.Edglcy „ J
Martha, Captain Wm. Rcadish „ "
Bocret, Captain Walter Smith "
Kathleen, Captain John Cosgravo ,,
The Pearl took tho lead, followed closely by the
Martha, and after sailing about a quarter of a
mile tho last-meutionod passed her and gained n
considerable lead, with the Crest of tho \> nvo in
second placo. Tho Kathleen, however, soon woke
up and made close acquaintance with them, and
oa passing Pagoda Island on the west side ob
tained the lead, and gained considerably on it ;
but on again passing tho satno spot was passed by
Crest of tlio Wave, which caine in victorious, with
the Kathleen and Martha closo nt hand, there not
boing a boat's length between cither of the three
yachts. Mr. T.C.King ollioiated as judge and
starter, and Mr. J. S. Davidson as timekeeper.
Another race will bo held on Saturday next,
entries for which will bo received at tlio Clare?
don Hotel to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock.
