BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Sakdridoe Council (2nd July.)— The follow,
ing letters were in the correspr-n'dence .-—From
the Board of Land and Workr,, referring to pre
vious correspondence on the Subject of tho pro
clamation of Inglea-Btreet north and Ingles-street
extension, uuu stating tuat in view of the
proposal made for tho construction of a canal and
docks in Sandridge Bend, the "board had no
intention to proclaim any streets in tho locality,
pending the adoption of some definite scheme.
From the Town Clerk of Melbourne, suggesting
tho appointment of delegates to attend a confer
ence on the question of obtaining a bill for con
structing and regulating tramways in tho city and
suburbs : The mayor (audiCr. Burrows were ap-
pointed. From tho same, pointing out where the
bill to amend tho Juries Statute should be
altered : Tho council resolved to co-operate
iu tho way suggested. From James Scott, solici
tor, offering to deliver a lecture on " Trial In
jury," under the patronage of tho council, in be
half of the Gresham relief fund : Referred to tho
relief committee. On the recommendation of the
Public Works Committee, the town clerk was in
structed to reply to the Emerald-hill Town Coun
cil that this council would do what it could to
aid in obtaining the extension of the Williams-
town-road from Ingles-street to Pcrrars-strect.
Accounts amounting to £51(I6sv7d. were passed
for payment.
