MELBOURNE MARKETS.

Eastern Market.— There was a good supply of
egctables at market tins morning, which mct'with
a moderate demand nt late rates. In dairy produce
butter was easier, and eggs continue plentiful and
cheap. The supply of poultry was scarcely equal to
the demand. The following prices ruled:— Vege
tables: Artichokes, ground. Id. per lb.; beet, Gd. to
8d. per dozen ; bouquets, 3s. to 10s. do. ; cabbages,
Gd, to 2. do.; cauliflowers, Is. to 6s. do. ; carrots,
Gd. to 9<l. per dozen bunches; celery, Is. to 3s.
per dozen: cress, Gd. per dozen bunches: garlic, Cd,
to 9d. per lb.; horseradish. Is. to 5s. per dozen
sticks ; leeks, Gd. per dozen Jiunchcs ; lettuces, 3d. to
Gd. per dozen ; marjoram, Gd. per dozen bunches;
mint, Is. do. ; onions, dry, 12s. to 14s. per
cwt. ; do., green, Gd, to 9d. per dozen bunches ;
parsley, Gd. do.; parsnips, Is. to Is. 0d. do.; potatoos,
6s. Gu. 'to Gs. per cwt.; do., now, 7s. to 8s,

per pair; pork, 7d. to 9d. per lb.; rabbits, Is. Gd. to
2s. per pair ; turkeys, 10s. to 20s. do.
Western Markrt.— Messrs. Hukrky and Soke re
port the following as tho wholesale prices for the
week, viz. :— Oranges (common), Gs. Gd. to 7s. per
case : mandarins, 10s. to 12s. do.; Seville, Us. to 12s.
do.; navel, 10s. tolls, do.: lemons, 9s. to 10s. do.; pine
apples, 4. to Gs. per dozou ; cocoanuts, 3s, to 4s,
do.; eating apples, 10s. to Us. per case : cooking do.,
8s, to 9s. do.; oysters, 25s. to 30s. fper hag. During
the latter part of the week the raarkot was not so firm,
and prices were consequently lower, owing, no
doubt, to tho unfavorable state of the weather.
Hay Market.— Messrs. Bvtt.kr and Moss write
Wo have no alloratlon to report, tbe supply and tho
demand being about equal. Wc sold— Hay, £6 5a. to
£G10s.; straw, £3 5a. to £4 6s. Messrs. Fknton and
Marshall report :— There has been an average supply
during the week, the market being nearly cleared
daily. Prices for— Hay, £5 103. to £G 10s.; atraw,
£3 5s. to £3 16s.
