THE HEATHCOTE RAILWAY.
A deputation from Heatbcote waited on tho
Minister of Railways yesterday, to urge the con
struction of a line from that place to a Doint on
the North-east line in the vicinity of Seymour.
A number of conflicting interests were bound
up in this question, and several other
deputations were heard by the Minister.
While the Jieuthcote people were satisfied
to lenro the route to the Minister, a ueputnuon
from Sandhurst wanted it to go from candhuRit
through Qcatbcote to Seymour. A Seymour depn-
tationuackcil this up, but deputations irom Lance-
field and Kyneton each urged .that il should
stark from those places, and a Kilinore uepu-
tation was strongly in favor of it striking the
North-eastern line that place. Alter hearing
a number of arguments, Mr. Bent promised to
remit the question to the Cabinet.
