Information was received by Mr. R.
Dodd, secretory of the Flour Mill Km-
jtoyea' Union, yesterday v. that the flour
mills at Kerang and Bridgewaier bad
closed down, and thai the mill at Rupon-
;»-up was only working one Bhift per day.
There are now about 500 of the 700 nrem-
bcrs of the union out of employment. AU
the city mills and the other country mill?
are either closed down or working on re
duced time, with the exception of two
mills, which had a breakdown of ma-
(shinery last year and are gristing old
ttock. Mill owners have secured ah order
for 3500 tons of flour for export, but that
will only keep the twelve inilla concerned
in operation for Ave days.
