COURSING.
ECHUC'A.— Owing to the continued drought
and the (miscqueii; hard nature of the ground,
the Echucn' PLunpton Coursing Club abandoned
its opening meeting, which was to have taken
place on Tuesday.
ST. ARNAUD.— The St. Amaud Coursing Club
is now registered under the National Coursing
Club of Victoria, and the first meeting under
these conditions passed off very successfully on
Monday. Following are the results of an eight-
dog stake, at £1 1/ each:— First Round: W.
Perry's Duke beat J. Avery's Admiral; J. An
derson's D.C.L. beat J. Avery's Dutch Admiral;
W. Tayntott's Speculation Heat J. Dunlop's Al-
tunga;.J. Bale's Myrtle beat W. Glceson's Danish
Lass. First Ties: D.C.L. beat Duke; Myrtle beat
Speculation. Final : D.C.L. beat Myrtle, and
won the stake.
