AT.HIOX v. SOUTH ' YAJin.l JPA1MC.
To the Editor ofBcWs Lifein Victoria. I
Sin, — Tn your paper of tho 7th current, I observed
a letter headed ' South Yurra Park v. Albion,' and
signed by a member of the former, which-, I am sorry to
saj-, contains one or two misstatements, which I 'beg
leave to correct.' 'In the first place, ho says that in a
letter inserted in your journal (of tlio 80th of April),'
it was stated that the S. Y. P. refused to play, iand;
it. .1 iL. A ll,!nni ?maw/1 An * l-n nmnnll Waw Qir- f lin
facU:of tho case are thoso: tho S. Y;P,, as stated in
the letter they complain of, did refuse to play, which
boing communicated to-tho Albions, they of course
were not on tho ground at the timo appointed; for
what would-be the use of assembling when tho match
was not to take place ? This being the case, how coiild
a letter be'sent directly stating tho contrary . to' a
public paper, when tho persjn who sent it must know
this to be the -truth/' I would adviso 'A Member of
tho S. Y. P.' to uso his eyesight a little more bofore h'o
asserts such misstatements again. However, should. he
not be satisfied, let him refer to tho letter itself, in your
iiuo of 80th Anril. Tho next thine ho says is, that
tho first match was a draw,' and that no scoro was kept
by the Albio'ns. This, Sir, is nhO' incorrect; the match,
,waa not a dravmone; andwith regard to tho scoro, Ilia
snmb may. bo seen in tho'amplo pages' of your journal.
Trusting you insert this, I nm, Sir, yours obodiontly, ?
