Three times the fun of the fair
The McLaren Vale Bushing
Festival will reach full flavour on
November 3 and 4 when a giant
bushing fair takes place at three
different wineries.
Kay Bros. Amery Vineyards will
once again stage its famous bushing
craft market which has attracted
thousands of people in past years.
Plenty of family entertainment
will be provided by the Middlebrook
Winery and Restaurant through a
variety of food stalls, sideshows and
the Middlebrook train.
A big hit is sure to be the media
bottling competition which com
mences at 2.30 pm on the Sunday
at Middlebrook.
The public will have the chance to
see press, radio and TV personalities
race to fill bottles of wine with a
syphon.
There will also be an inter-winery
barrel race at the Middlebrook
bushing fair.
More action will take place at
Hardy's fairground at the Hardy's
Tintara Winery where art work by
the Reynella Art Group will be
displayed and demonstrations of
emergency rescue techniques given.
For the children, a bouncing castle
will give them plenty to smile about
while all the family will delight at
the Fleurieu Peninsula caged birds
display and the Cottage Craft Shop.
The Willunga Lions Club will
provide a barbecue at the fair
ground on both the Saturday and
Sunday.
Admission to all three venues is
free.
Wine tastings will be available and
Middlebrook wine will be sold for
50 cents per glass at the bushing
fair.
AH the stalls at the Kay Bros,
vineyards will be under cover and
ploughman's lunches and devonshire
teas will be served.
Hay rides will keep the children
occupied while the adults wander
through the maze of craft stalls
featuring woodwork, pottery,
weaving, home-made flowers,
home-made preserves and confec
tionary, macrame, jewellery, vege
tarian foods, blown glass, orchids
and plants, calico and lace, copper
art, bread dough sculpture, and
other craft items.
For the first time, all three fairs
will be held on both Saturday and
Sunday.
