THE DAY'S TRADE.
Turnover in Commonwealth loans in the
forenoon was light. The short-dat#d 4J
per cents, changed hands at £99 10/, and
the 5 per cents., due 19231 at the slightly
weaker rate of £100 2/6?- The 6 per
cents., redeemable 1930, had sales effected
at -Saturday's closing quotation, and the 5
per cents., 1927, at £101. In the £10
bonds, the 5 per cents, 1923, were sold at
£10 0/6 and £10 V- Investment and
industrial companies' shares provided small
trade. Odd lots of National Bank rights
were dealt in at 70/. Bagot, Shakes, and
Lewis were unchanged, but Bawra shares
gained a point. in Adelaide Steamship
sales were effected at recent rates- S,A.
Gas again supplied trade at 27/6, but sellers
were 'prepared to continue. Buyers
were . in evidence for Adelaide Cement
pref., 22/9; Abermain Seehan, 27/: British
Tobacco ord., -43/6; Charles Burks ord-,
19/0 pref. 23/3; Vivian Lewis, 13/; and
Wunderlich ord.,- 27/3; but sellers did
not . declare. : Holffen's Motor Body realised
33/3. • Sellers offered A. W. Allen
ref., -at'24/, Duncan & Fraser at 36/6,

reducers' Cold Storage at 20/6, O.T. at
S/& .and Pines and Hardwood, ord., at
12/3, without response from buyers. Harris,
Scarfe ord., steadied to 19/5. ..
Barrier shares were dull, but quotations
were about on a par with thc^ee which
ruled at the end of the weeefe. - Junctions
were' taken at 4/7„ and Souths'at
47/6, an easingof a fraction in-the lafteer.
Sulphide ord. -provided trade at 22/, and
for Zinc Corporation ord. 13jC5 was accepted
early in the day, but buyers paid
13/6 later. U-H. Proprieetary recovered
4id. of the reqent falL Copper companies'
Bhares were bare of trade, but
provions -quotations were fully sustained.
The oil section was quiet, and the only
line in which trade was eeffected was
Freney's Kimberley- Oil at 14/10$.
Goldmining. shares -were . lifeless, . and
only a few stocks were exchanged. Ives
Reward paid shares shaded a pomt. Lake
View and Star were sold" at 2/7, the
buyers paid 27/i, and were preepared to
continue... Empire Extended , changede
hands at 2Jd. -Hansel Mundy con. weakened
to 8|d., but 1/7 -could have .been
obtained for the paid shares. Mutooroo
con. shaded to .2/5}, and 50 paid shares
were placed at the lower rate of 3/2. Sons
of Gwalia were wanted at 5/11, and South
Kalgurli at 11/9.
