ANNUAL MEETING
DANDENONG RIFLE CLUB.
I am, yours faithfully,
W. F. POWLESLAND,
Hon. Secretary.
On Wednesday evening last, at the
fire station, the annual meeting of
the Dandenong Rifle Club was held,
when a full muster of members, were
present, with Captain D. M. Dunn in'
the chair.
■Correspondence from the Staff Of
ficer for Rifle Clubs and the secretary
of V.R.A. was.read, also a congratu
latory letter from the Malvern Rifle
Club, in reference to Dandenong’s win
in the “B” grade pennant matches.
The secretary then presented the
annual report and balance sheet, as
follows:
SECRETARY S REPORT.
Captain and Members, —It is my
privilege once again to present the
annual report for year 1936-7, and,
doing so, feel that you will agree that
we have had a successful year in many
ways, the main one being a credit
of £5/0/9. Winning the “B”
grade pennant was an outstanding
event. In inter-club shoots we did
not have the success of recent yeai's.
Two of bur members were successful
in winning prizes at the A.N.A. meet
ing, at Port Melbourne, viz., H. Nash
and H.- V; Giasheen. I would like to
congratulate the former on his fine
shooting, he having won, in addition to
the above. Club Championship, Cen
tury Cup, and several minor prizes.
Club trophies were won by all mem
bers? the most successful being H.
Tulloch (6), and match aggregate
(away), D. M. Dunn (5), T. Goold
(4), E. Wheller (3) and Y.R.A. medal.
Possibles were obtained by W. F-
Powlesland (2), and H. Tulloch. As
we will be shooting in “A” Grade pen
nant this coming year, new members
are urgently needed to boost the side
up. I would suggest that a strong
canvass be made by the club with that
object in view.
My thanks go -to those who have
generously donated trophies; to the
“Advertiser” and “Journal,” whose
columns have been at our disposal, and
to the members who have helped to
terminate a successful year.
Again thanking you, one and all,
for our /various successes during the
period, and wishing the club the best
of luck in the coming one.

GENERAL BUSINESS.
A vote of thanks was extended to

for the' capable manner in which he
had carried out his duties during the
past season.
Glowing reference was also made
to the energetic secretary (Mr. W.
F. Powlesland), who is now entering
his tenth year as secretary to the club
—a fine record.
The club is again affiliating with
the No. 19 Union, and will compete
in the “A” grade pennant matches of
that Union, at Williamstown, and
will also compete in the quarterly

Several minor alterations were made
to the rules governing the club cham

allot a second prize in trophy shoots.

vote of thanks to Mrs. Tulloch for
the kindly hospitality extended to the
