NEWS AND NOTES
Soldiers' Reunion.
The second annual re-union of Ber
wick district returned soldiers was
held in the Soldiers' Hall, Berwick,
on Thursday night, and was well at-
tended, amongst those present being
Messrs. G. H. Knox and Burnett
Gray, M’s.L.A. The chairman was
Mr. Li. R. Dawson and several toasts
were given during the evening, the
speakers being the chairman and
Messrs. Knox, Gray, S. A. Greaves,
and Maxwell. In acknowledging the
:cast of the State Parliament, Mr.
Knox said that although members
might be divided in their opinions on
many matters, they were unanimous
that everything possible should be
done to assist and encourage the
soldiers. During the evening several
spngs and other items were given, and
the proceedings were very successful
in every way.
