QUEEN'S JUBILEE CELEBRATION.
LADIES' CATERING C01I.M1TTEK.
A meeting of the ladies' committee in
connection with the recent demonstration
was held at the Town Hall, Beeehworth,
011 Thursday evening.
Mr. H. VANDENBERG presided, and
011 opening the meeting expre sed the
pleasure he had had in working with the
ladies' committee and the gratification of
all at the success they had achieved. He
believed they would find the balance-
sheet highly aatisfactory.
Air. W. J. BOWEN then presented
the balance-sheet of the catering .sub
committee. 20141bs. provisions had been
actually consumed on the course aud
there were still left 141b. tea ; Tibs,
mustard ; and 0 lbs. sugar. The total
receipts amounted to £10 16s. Gd., and the
I expenditure to £10 2s. 3d., leaving a
surplus of £6 4s. 3d. Since then 4s. 3d
had been handed in, showing a present
surplus of £G Ss. Gd.
The CHAIRMAN explained there
were a few shillings yet outstanding,
about 10s. or 12s. which had not come in.
He suggested that the surplus should bo
left to the Ladies' Committee to dispose
of as they might think (it. (Applause.)
Mr. PARSONS moved, and Air. TRIM
seconded, a motion to that effect. —

Air. BOWEN thought it only right
that a vote of thanks should be passed to
the ladies for their hearty and energetic
co-operation in collecting both money and
goods. He moved to that effect.
Air. PA RSON3 seconded tho motion,
and thought it should be considered not
only a formal but sincere vote of thanks.
Carried with acclamation.
The CHAIRMAN mentioned other
ladies who were not present hut wore
equally worthy of recognition for their
services in collecting and in conducting
tho children's sports on the ground.
Mr. J. FLETCHER, president of tho
executive committee, said at late meeting
lie was deputed oil their behalf to thank
the ladies most heartily. No anxiety had
been felt as to the catering when tho
ladies had taken it up, and in this respect
he might say the ladies of Beeehworth
were " second to none." The surprise of
the children at their reception was as
"ratifying as it was a pleasure to the com
mittee. "tie desired to repeat, the thanks
of the committee, and had much pleasure
in moving a hearty vote of thanks to Mr.
Yandenberg. — Carried unanimously.
The CHAIRMAN thanked all present

ladies should give authority to liquidate
the accounts.
It was unanimously decided that the
chairman undertake this duty.
A vote of thanks was passed to the
Press for the assistance given throughout.
Airs. GRAHAM moved, and Air.
BOWEN seconded, that the balance in
hand ba handed to the general commiLtee,
to be expended on improvements at Wal
lace Park.
The meeting then closed.
