The charges to Advertisers and Sub-
scribers to the True Colonist, being calcu-
lated at the lowest ready money prices, the
Proprietor is under the necessity of giving
notice that the runners are compelled to
account monthly for all the Town delivery,
and that when they do not account for the
full amount those papers are stopped, and
cannot be issued again until the runners
have paid up the arrears. Our Sub-
scribers will see the necessity of this
arrangement, not only to enable us to carry
on our heavy ready money expences, but to
keep a check upon our runners, who are
necessarily entrusted with the Collection,
our contract being with Mr. Francis
Low, who is responsible to us and employs
his own runners. Our country Subscribers
who have not paid up to the end of the
year, must excuse us if we discontinue
their papers after the '28th instant, unless
their accounts are then paid up. Those
who wish to support us will not disapprove
of this. ' And we cannot afford to carry
our patriotism so far as to expend our time
and our money, merely for the honour of
having our writings read, by persons, who
do not consider them worth paying for.
No single numbers of the True Colonist
will in future be sold under sixpence each.
.As our regular Subscribers who are daily
increasing, have been frequently disap-
pointed of certain numbers in consequence
of an extraordinary demand for those num-
bers by persons who are not Subscribers.
All Subsribers must be by the month, and
pay monthly or weekly at their option.
