An Appeal to the Charitable.
An earnest appeal is made to the
charitably disposed by the Ladies'
Benevolent Society on behalf of James
Bacon and his Family, who have been left
entirely destitute of clothing, &c., by the
fire which recently destroyed their home
at Hurdle Flat. '
There are four children— three boys
aged 8, 5 and 3 years respectively, and a
baby girl 18 months old— and not an
article of clothing belonging to any of
them was saved.
_ The ladies will be glad to receive dona
tions of either clothes or money, which
may be left either at Mr. A. W. Foster's
shop, Ford-street, or at the office of this
paper, and will be most -gratefully ac
knowledged. The case is one which not
only" requires help,- but deserves it, and
the ladies' confidently believe that this
appeal will not be made in vain.
