FIRES.
BEACONSFIELD. — On Sunday evening
Air. Atkin's house, about three miles
from Upper Beaeonsfield, was completely
destroyed by fire. Mr. and Mrs. Atkins
were only absent from the house for half
an hour when flames were seen issuing
through the roof. The building was in
sured, but the furniture was not insured.
Mr. Atkins's loss is estimated at £500.
LORQUON.— About 6 p.m. on Sundav a
fire broke out on Mr. Jules Reichelt's
farm, close to the township. One hav-
staek was damaged to the extent of £20.
but the fire was prevented from extending
to the other stacks and machinery sheds.
