A FISHINH EXCURSION.
On Thursday evening last. Mr.
Fred Grey and Captain Tulloeh invited
a number of friends to join
them in a iisliing excursion down the
Gulf. Owing to his urifortnnate
accid.Gnt Mr. Grey was unable to join
the party, and bis absence was
generally regretted. The steamer
Petrel was engaged for the ocpasion,
but the night turned out too rough
to be pleasant, especially to several
of the landsmen, who carried with
them a far-away look, and were upheaved
several times by a deep
emotion. There was too big a sea oil
to nable fishing to be carried out
with any degree of success, and
after .several attempts ^he task of
enticing the denizens of the deep was
given up, and the p^rty returned
home without having been rewarded
with a bite. However, ail on board
had a high old time, the only disappointed
party appa e ltly b-ing
the owner of the handcart awaiting
the arrival of the steamer to cart
home the anticipated haul.
