Wheat. — Tlie markets are quiet and buy
ers are reserved. Tlie tendency is slightly
easier, owing to a better political outlook
in Europe. Holders are asking 37/9 for
Sou tii Australian August-October, 36/6 for
New South Wales April sailing, and 35/3
.for South Australian or Victorian parcels
afloat. Sales are announced of the follow
ing cargoes; — Per -Closcburn, at 37/3, load
ing in South Australia; per .Charles Racine,
at 36/9, sailed from Adelaide. 23rd June:
13,000 quarters .South Australian, sailer.
October-November shipment, at 37/3 per
4S0 lb. c.i.r. and e. There. is a retail de-
ipnnd for Australian on t'he. spot, at 37/ to
37/6 per 49G lb. ex warehouse. There is
more inquiry for New Zealand -long berry
at 36/.
Flour is firmer. Australian patents are
selling at 25/ ex store.
Butter. — Tiie market is firm at late rates.
Tliore is a good demand for choicest Aus
tralian, which is scarce. There is only n
small inquiry for second grades, such being
too high to compete with margarine.
Bacon. — The market i-s firm. Australian
is worth about 60/.
, Cheese. — Tlie market is firm, with a
.steady trade. New Zealand is off tlie
liiarket, stocks being cleared.
, Oats are firm. La Plata, January-Feb
ruary, IG./O io 10/9. Cartons, 21/0 to 23/;
Sjinvrow'biils, 21/ to 22/.
Beans. — Fair New Zealand, 34/.
Freights are steady. Fixtures include one
for South Australia, at 25/, for October-
November loading. For Melbourne, Janu
ary-February, at 24/0; and October -loading,
at 25/.
Sheep Skins.— At the public auctions
7470 bale were catalogued, and all were
sold. There was an average attendance of
buyers, and competition was fairly main
tained. Good Australian merino combings
were unchanged in price; ordinary Austra
lian merino combings and clothings, as
well as botli grades of erossbreds, were
from par to O'/ld. per lb. lower.
BRADFORD. TOPS.
Thp demand is limited. Mcrinoes are
firm, but crosSbreds are -slow. Quotations
are as follow:— Super. 00's, 27ttd. ; 60's,
27d.; common 00's. 2Gd.; 56's, 21%d.; 50's,
18>id.; 46's, 15d.; 4o's, 13-Rd.
