RECRUITING.
BLOCKING RECRUITS.
SELFISH EMPLOYERS.
The Director-General of Hccruiting
has made n further statement dealing
with the attitude of employers in regard
to recruiting. He said that
while he wishes to acknowledge tinssistance
which had beeu given by
thousands of employers, bulb large
and small, there were other employers
in all parts of Australia who were not
encouraging their men to enlist, and
here were hundreds of jueu who
would be glad to go to the war if those
employers would give them liberty iu
voluuteer. Active encouragemeut was
required from all employers iu the present
great national effort. lie had
received complaiuts from, private employers
that various Governments had
not done their duty in Hie way of encouraging
public servants to enlisL In
s opinion those Governments were
endeavoring ro meet the situation, and
private employers should do likewise.
