ARRIVAL OF THE MORETON
FROM TASMANIA.
Tho steamer Moreton, Captain W. H. Pearce,
from the north-west coaBt of Tasmania, arrived
shortly before miduight, bringing tho fol
lowing passengers in tho saloon : —
Messrs. J. Henry, Brickhill, Bruce, Latimer
and Lang ; and threo in tho steerage.
She left the River Mersey at 2.45 p.m. on 27th
August, calling at Emu Bay and Circular Head
for mails and passengers the same day, leav
ing the latter port at 11.15 p.m., reaching Port
Phillip Heads at 7.30 p.m. yesterday, and
arriving at tho wharf at 11.35 p.m. The
Moreton experionced fresh northly winds
nnd rain during tho first part of passage,
thence to arrival moderate westerly winde and
clear weather. ..The Moruton's cargo is as fol
lows 3939 sacks potatoes, 49 Backs hides, 1
box sundries.
