RETURNED SOLDIERS.
DONALD.— Last Friday Trooper "P. Falia, the
first Victorian wounded in action, returned home
to Donald from England, xvhere lie has been under
medical treatment in the Nctley Hospital for a
xvound In the right arm above the elbow, caused
by two bullets. - Two inches of the bone had to l>o
taken aw-av, and no great pressure ean be put upon
the arm. By the public of the toxvn and district
an enthusiastic reception xras given to him at the
rnllxx-ay station, and in the evening lie was invited
to a welcome home concert in St. George's Hall,
presided over by the president of the local shire
council, Mr. J. B. llomsby. — Corporal F. Kerainis,
of Avon Plains, xvho returned recently, x\as met
at the' Cope Cope railway station by the Av'011
Plains Rifle Ciub. and a iurgc number of civilians,
and in the evening in tlie Banycnu mechanics' in
stitute .xvas tendered a social. ' The soldier xvns
welcomed by Cr. Rcseigli, and presented xvitli a
Lec-EnUcld match rifle. Corpor.il Keminis accom
panied Trooper Falia to Donald liy inx-itation.
DONCASTER. — Last Friday evening a xvelcomc
home xvas tendered to Corporal .1. A. Chiy, xvho
xvas presented xx-itli a gold locket, suitably in
scribed.
DRY DIGGINGS.—' Trooper F. Poulter xras ten
dered an enthusiastic xvelcomc home at the Dry
Diggings school. A patriotic concert and coffee
sociul-xvns held; and- at the-close Trooper Poulter
xvas presented xvitli a gold Maltese cross and a
purse of sox-crcigns.
FI2RN 1IILL. — At the mechanics' institute a
welcome home social was tendered to Trooper D.
II. Jones, xvho xvas presented Willi a watch, chain
and medal. . While in Soutli Africa Trooper .lours
xvas shot through the fleshy part of tiie cheek, and
about the same time his horse was shot and fell,
pinning him, to tlie, ground, xvhere he lay unlil
release! by comrades.
M'JilNNON. — Last Wednesday, at the Gar:
doners' Arms, Trooper Sleddoxx-, of the A. I. It., was
welcomed home by his fritmls. Tlie chair was occu
pied by .Mr.- R. Wallace, xvho, 011 behalf of a num
ber of friends, presented the trooper xvitli a hand
some Rothcrham gold watch, suitably inscribed.
N'MWSTEAD.— ' Trooper Cameron, of tiie Fifth
Contingent, xvas enthusiastically welcomed home.

SORHENT'O. — The Nepcatl Rifle' Club gave a suc-
cessful smoke night nt the mechanics' institute to
xvelcomc home Trooper J. Sutton, of tho Neiv
South Wales Imperial Bushmen.
