All the Theatres were ties! royed— The Columbia,
Fisher's, the Orphcum, the Majestic, where Ncllio
Stewart completed her great triumphs a few hours
before the catastrophe.
Scenes at Park Lodge, Golden Gate Park, Van
Ness Avenue, Nobs' Hill, the famous Chinatown,
the Colossal Ferry Building, the Francis and Palace
Hotels, Ac.
The Refugees' Cainp at Oakland, a marvellous pic-
Cure, showing the rows and rows of men, women,
and children rccciviug rations, the sick lady in her
sflks and satins next to the wife ot a Chinaman,
a Japanese cook next to a multi-millionaire.
Dynamiting Whole Buildings, One can scarcely
realise it. Imagine Collins-street, from Stewart Daw

THE AXGELUS
PIANO PLAYER.
BRILLIANT IN EXECUTION,
HUMAN IN ITS EXPRESSION,
. THE EASIEST TO OPERATE.
THE "AXGELUS" Is tlic piano's oilier half— that

both, the world's grcAtc&t music may be produced
by -you without your knowing a note or key.
But tlic "AXGELUS" is not alone a delight te
those ignorant of music. It is possessed by stick
eminent artists as Mnrcella Scmbrich, Joscf Hoff
man nnd Jean dc Reszke, who express unbounded en
thusiasm in the pleasure it gives them.
The "ANGELUS" is the pioneer piano player— the
flret instrument that ever took the place of knowing
eyes and skilled fingers lor the playing of the piano.
' The "ANGELIJS" is the only piano player jws-
sessing the Phrasing Lever— which giTca the wonder,
ful powers of expression unknown to other pianc
players.
The "ANOELUS" is the only piano player having
Emphasis Valves, whereby tho Melody notes nri
pluyed separately from the accompaniment. The

THESE MAGNIFICENT ORGANS.
Which may bo Examined at their Warehouse,

The following letter' has been received by the
Mason and Hamlin Co.
Gentlemen,— I feel I must send you a line to con
gratulate you on the result you have attained in
your new Two Manual and Pedal Organs, which you
have named after me. When I made the suggestions
f<w\ the new model I never anticipated that they
could all be carried out iu so small a space with
such great success; but I ara glad to say that the
result mora than reaches mi expectations in every
way.
You have now an instalment which any organist
may bo proud to possess, as the position of pedals,
keys, stops, swell pedals, composition pedals, "&c.,
render him quite independent in tho way of practice
of his churchj hall, or wherever tlic pipe organ may
be, the two instruments being, with the exception
of tee substitution of reeds for pipes, identical.
Personally it gives me far greater pleasure to play on
one of these organs than un a small pipe orgRii, as
the reeds are so beautifully voiced, and of course
remain in perfect tuuc, tuul the orchestral effects
A-c., one can get scent endless.
There is one point regarding the Toicing I must
mention, and tlmt is the wonderful prouiptuc&s of
tho 16 foot reeds, both on tho pedals and the
manuals. This had been a great drawback, from
the organist poiut of view, in the- pedal rccd
organs which have been in the market hitherto, and
1 consider you have made a. great achievement in
this way.
I am indeed proud to ponsess the organ you have
built for me, and I shall strongly urge all roy
friends who study and play the organ to purchase
one, nnd tliua make one of the best investments
they could make in their own interests.
I hope you will make any use of tbjft letter that
you think fit.
Yours faithfully,
(Signed) EDWIN H. LEMARE,.
