THE DERWENT YACHTING
FATALITY.
Another very complete search was
made by Sergeant Ward yesterday
atteraoon for the' body ot Alexander
Grimmond. The parents ot the unfortunate
man chartered tbe steamer
Endeavor, which, with Sergeant Ward
on iboard, made a complete search, of
tbe foreBhores and waters of the Derwent
from Bedlam Walls to the Ironpot,
while the father ot young G-rim-
mond walked along the shore of the
Derwent from Bellerive to Droughty
Point, where he was picked up by the
Endeavor. The search was unsuccessful,
as no sign of the body was seen.
A cap was picked up near Droughty
Point on Good Friday morning, and
was sent to the polloe cfcarge room
yesterday morning In the hope that It
might throw some light as to tbe
whereabouts of the body. On being
inspected by a member of the crew flf
the Nancy and a cousin of the deceased,
It was found that the cap was
not worn by Mr. Alexander Orimmond
on the fatal day.
