HAY MARKET.
Messrs. Butler and Moss report:—' The market
has been very lightly supplied with hay, the
farmers being too busy harvesting the new crops
to send much forward. The demand was good, and
buyers were not supplied. Straw is in fair de-
mand, witn ngnt supplies. we sold:-rMangcr
hay, £0 to £6 15/; new chaffing, £4 5 J to £4 35/;
Victorian straw, £2 10/ to £2 15/; Tasmanian
straw, £2 15/ to £3.
Messrs. J. Barwise and Co. report (8th Novem
ber):— Market barely supplied owing to farmers
busy harvesting, and prices firm. We realised:—
Manger hay, £5 15/ to £0 15/; sheaves, old, £5
10/, £5 15/; new, £4 10/. Straw: Tasmanian,
£2 17/0 to £3; Victorian, £2 10/ to £2 12/6.
Chaff: Prime green, wheaten, £G 7/G, £0 10/ ;
oaten, £6 to £0 5/; good, £5 17/6, £0. Straw,
cut, to £3 15/. Cornsacks: New, 4/8; seconds,
to 4/. Bran bags: New, 3/8; seconds, 3/.
