YANKALILLA
SHOW SOCIETY MEETING
The annual meeting of the
Yankalilla, Myponga, and
Rapid Bay Agricultural Soci
ety was held on Monday
evening when the following

senior vice-president, Mr. G.
Mayfield; junior vice president
Mr. R. Fairchild; secretary,
Mr. S. T. Harvey; treasurer,
Mr. A. Paxton; chief ring
steward, Mr. A. L. Stone.
For the first time in 50
years (due to the heat) 89
year-old veteran show society
life member, Mr. Will Stacey,
failed to attend the meeting.
He has been a show steward i
of the society for over 71
vears.
During the evening, Mr.
Tait Kidman, president of the
Agricultural Council of Show
Societies of S.A., addressed
members on the formation of
country show societies
throughout the State and
pointed out the advantages of
forming into one State Coun
try Show Society.
Highlights of the show this
year will be judging for a
Miss Yankalilla Show Girl.
The successful entrant will
then go on to compete with
other nominees in the final
judging.
At the conclusion of the
meeting, marks of respect
were recorded for Miss R.
Clark and Mr. R. Bolt, both
deceased since the last an
nual meeting, and active
members of the Society for
many years.
