Veteran Rugby League sportsman,
Ted Lynch, master butcher of Wyalong,
is used to carving up bodies, but when
his own "carcase" was knocked about,
he said, "I've had it!"
There was nothing seriously
wrong, however, other than that
the popular Bportsman. found
that he is "not as young as he
Used lo bo," when it conies to
playing a hard game of Rugby
L,e:if.ve.
Lynch filled a vacancy in
the Tallimba team which
p<ayed MaHee Plains at Bor
enia f-rrl*, Vk\ along.
The game wis hard and fast,
but clean and spectacular, with
both teams "flat-out" until the
condition of the Mallee Plains
team petered out.
Lynch, a vigorous forward,
lost some skin and packed a few
bruises. He did not return for
the second session, although he
played an outstanding game for
the first 40 minutes.
PETTIT HURT
Neville Hailb was outstanding
or Malleo Plains, with H. Rob
ertson and M. Steele prominent.
Noel Pet!it was also show
ing good form until he was
injured and had to leave the
field.
Pettit, however, lasted long
enough for Mallee Plains to
open the scoring and Carmichael
was the first to score for Tal
llmba.
Tallimba won 20-5.
: Mallee Plains will play Tal
limto next Sunday at Tallimba.
