Clubs' Successes
Geelong sportsmen are enthusalstlc
regarding tho performance of the two
local harrier clubs In qualifying for
the finals in the fnter-club premiership
matches. Last year ChriBt
Church reached the semi-final stage,
and though Glen^Huntly beat them in
the last round supporters , of Christ
Church feel that they will win the
premiership this year.
The performance of the Guild Harriers
Is one of outstanding merit. The
club has just been revived after the
effects of tho war, and though com
prised of young runners, it has put
up a great performance for its first
year in the lnter-club contests. The
meeting againBt Melbourne on Saturday
is awaited with interest.
Against Malvern the team won by
four points. For tlie ninth occasion
J. Wiiqon won the 100 yards event.
The outstanding feature of the Guild's
performance was that of Athol Wilson,
who suffered from a stlLeh in the
last lap of the mile, but Muck to liis
task and put up 4 great performance.
