rOpri/All NEW PRESIDENT
An interesting personality on the
owling greens of Ballarat is Mr John
. Bull, who Is tlie president-elect of
he Ballarat Howling Association. It
the custom of the retiring president
f the Association to nominate hts sue-'
essor, and retiring president .W. J.
readwell Is considered by bowwrs genrally
to have made a happf Mlectloh
n Mr Bult.
The new president is in his 80th year
as a member of the Ballarat City club,
and as he was 45 years when he commenced
to play the game, he holds that
he made a concession to etiquette by
waiting till he had reached the fulness
of life before taking lo the mat.
He
was not long in proving.himself one of
the best bowlers of
Ballarat,
as
he
skippered the champion rink of
the
Ballarat Association in 2905, and was *
in charge of the runnera-up for
Ihe
Association championship in 190S.
He
has nleo gone close to
championship
distinction, both in Association and club
circles, as-a single-handed bowler. He
has captained club
rinks
for
msa?
years, and has also played as a representative
bowler In inter-city m&tcixp.
