No Expenses for Team
A
T m special meeting of the
Catholic Tennis Association it Victorian
was decided
not to give financial assistance to the
State team to compete in the National
championships at Perth at Christmas.
The Victorian association never has given
financial assistance to its teams for National
carnivals, but the matter was raised after
the carnival at Melbourne last Christmas,
when Western Australia paid the full expenses
of their playing members. It was:
suggested that Victoria should ensure that
the State's strongest team should visit
Perth by paying all expenses.
Delegates pointed out that the money for
£400—and that there i reason why .
similar amount could not be subscribed
for the Perth tour. In reply to this, it was
.pointed out that in the raising of such
money all clubs suffered.
