W hen a horse is rubbing (his tail,

wrong, the first thing to be done is to
discover the cause. Then apply plentifully
soap and w ater and the sheep
dip solution. One p art of the dip in
fifty p arts of warm w ater is right as
to strength. Then the m ane and tail
should ibe kept d e a n by the use of
comb and brush, and m ore o r less fre ­
quent washing. The tang h air should
•be dried as well as possible afte r
each scouring. W hen th e dip solution
is applied, there is no need to
slop it over so that it runs down
aw ay fnom the skin w here it is needed.
It should be rubbed in briskl
for a few moments.
