RECRUIT KICKS
12 GOALS
FOR ESSENDON

Essendon's better marking, ruck strength and
greater experience combined with the uncanny
accuracy, position play and all round ability of the
Hastings full-forward, John Coleman, proved too
good for Hawthorn's tenacity, pace and bustling
tactics before an attendance of 15,000.
In his first League game Coleman had eight
goals to his credit just after half-time and finished
the day with twelve.
