Geelong Switches
CHOPPING and changing posi-
tions have not assisted Geelong
and has robbed the team of much
of its former team work. Still the
selectors had to make experiments
in view of their position on the
list. Lindsay White, their outstanding
forward in recent years,
has been in defence for the last
two games but has appeared lost
and played much better in the
closing stages on Saturday when
transferred to the attack.
George Gneil, one of the Leagues
best full backs, was given the im-
portant post at the spearhead of
the attack against Essendon, but
did not settle down. He was shifted
later to his rightful position in goal.
It was while Gniel was away from
the defence that Essendon look a
grip of the game to score eight
goals in the first term. Fitzgerald
was another shift to centre halfback,
but he is a typical back
pocket player who works in wonder
fully well with George Gniel..
