ajn. to-day for Ea6t Coast ports.
The SB. Ware ate a, for Strahan, via
N.W. Coast j>orts, cleared Low Head at
6.45 p.m. yesterday.
The ss. Monowai, hence to Melbourne,
passed Eddystone at 1.20 p.m. yesterday,
and arrived at Melbourne at about noon
to-day.
The ketch Mary Ellis took her departure
from Hobart for Adelaide at 7.45 a.m. to
day. She calls at Recherche, where she
loads for the South Australian port.
The as. Warrentinna arrived here at
12.30 a.m. to-day from Launceston,
East Coast ports. She is timed to sail
again on return at 4 o'clock on Monday.
The barque Gerd, for Hobart, cleared
Low Head at 3.S0 p-m- yesterday. She
will discharge about 700 tons of London
cargo here, subsequently proceeding to
Newcastle.
The Be. Mahinapua left Strahan yesterday
at U.20 a.m., crossed the bar at 12.15
p.m., and arrived at Hobart to-day at 7.20
a.m. Experienced light south-east winds
and smooth sea throughout. The Mabipapua
sails on return at noon on Monday.
The Italian barque Aniello, ex Kirkloch
(Q8VK), which 'eft London on Maich 26
for Hobart, was spoken on April 20 in 27
N. 20 W., and signalled "All well/'
The French barque Germaine (JKQW),
which left Havre on April 10 for this
port, was spokoo on April S3, in 26 N. 21
W.
One of the lifeboats of the wrecked
steamer Oakland was sighted by the
R.M.S. Sonoma on her postage f 10111
Auckland to Sydney. Captain Rerriman
states that at 4 pan. on the 6th instant be
came across the boat. It WSB upright,
and foil of water. The Sonoma cruised
round the spot, and mode an examination
of the boat. The position of the boat when
sighted was latitude 34.21 south, longitude
155.54 east—distant about 230 miles from
Sydney Heads,

THE PHIL FORBES FLOATED.
A Stanley correspondent states that the
ketch Phil Forbes was floated off the
beach just after midnight on Tuesday, and
is now discharging the timber at the old
jetty. The vessel is not injured in any
way, the only loss being the two anchors,
which the captain hopes to pick up again.
Captain Collins has decided not to go into
Elack Biver, as after surveying the channel
and river inside he considers it is not
Davigable for a vessel of the Phil Forbes's
tonnage. It is some years since any vessels
traded to Black River.
