Lead.—The imports for the week
were 14,167 tons, including Australian
2126 to n s; exports amounted to 33G2
tons.
King Humbert of Itaty has removed
the difficulties which had created a
renewed political crisis, and the newly
organised Ministry remains as constituted
on Saturday last.
A mailman from Dyea reports that a
thousand Klondyke refugees are desperately
attempting to cross the mountains,
but are likely to lose, at least, one-fourth
of their number from starvation. Food is
now absolutely unpurchasable in Dawson
City, but Borne hopes are entertained that
reindeer may be utilised to introduce
supplies.

facie lawful, or at least not unlawful,
might be ectionable on account
of the motive dictating it. Lord
McNagbten says the decision unimpairs
the law relating to oppressive combination
for boycotting. The Standard says
a severe blow has been strnck at workmen’s
individual liberty of action, and is
the most important victory against militant
Trade Unionism ever wrested from a
legal tribunal.

was terribly severe ; rain, snow, and

Tbe Bill to provide Sir Gratmui berry
with an annuity of £500 per annum was
passed by both Houses of Parliament toay.

e Tichborne case was again before
tbe Lunacy Court to day in reference to
the application to bare William Cresswell,
an inmate of the Parramatta In ­
sane Asylum, banded over to his friends.
Medical men appointed with a view of
finding out whether certain marks and
peculiarities known to be on tbe body of
Roger Tichborne were on the body of
Cresswell, repotted that such was not
tbe case. Application to have Cresswell
handed over to his friends was then
dismissed with costs. His Honor said
he could not understand snch an application,
and expressed himself strongly in
hope of putting a slop to any further
