CAPTAIN DENNY'S DONATIONS.
It was three years on August 10
since Captain W. J. Denny, M.C., M,P.,
enlisted for active service in the A.I.F.,
and he left for the front in the middle
of March, 1916. It will be recollected
that Capt. Denny made arrangements
% for the payment of his Parliamentary
salary during: his absence to the
Mayor of Adelaide, for distribution to
organisations. of a patriotic character,
to be selected by the latter.. To the
end of July last the total received by
the Mayor on this account was £455
5/8, Of which amount the 'South Aus
tralian Soldiers' Fund, Red Cross So
ciety, : 'and' 'Catholic SoUders' Hut^at
Mitcham Camp "Have each received a
third part,.or a little over £150. Cap
tain Denny's generous and patriotic ac-t
tion has therefore materially benefited
the funds .mentioned..
