TRUCK AND DRAY COLLIDE
A spring dray laden with vine cut
tings was overturned and both shafts
broken when it was struck from behind
by a motor truck on Angaston-Nuri
ootpa road near Mr. W. Hanckel's on
Tuesday at about 5.35. The dray was
driven by Mr. P. Weber, Penrice, and
the truck by Mr. F. E. Geue, of Row
land's Flat. Mr. Weber was pulling
over to the extreme left of the road to
permit a car coming from Angaston
plenty of room to pass him, when the
truck travelling towards Angaston hit
the rear right-hand side of the dray.
Mr. Geue had seen the lights of the
approaching car, but in the gathering
dusk, accentuated by drizzling rain,
had failed to observe the dray. Both
dray and truck were damaged, but no
personal injury was experienced.
