RACING IN VICTORIA.
THE V.A.T.C. MEETING.
MELBOURNE, Sunday,
The Victoria Amateur Turf Club was unfor
tunate with its June Meeting. The weather
on Saturday was most unpropitious. The
following are the details:
HURDLE RACE.
One and three-quarter miles.
Mrs. Hayes's eh.h. Kimbolton, 11 st. (P.
Guinane) 1
Mr. Fountain's The Hero, 9 st. (J.
Barbour) 2
Mr. 3. M. Wilson's Gratiano, 10 st. 12 lb.

Betting-5 to 2 agst. Insurance, 9 to 2 Kim
bolton, 5 to 1 Gratiano, (J to 1 Pickwick, 10 to

Won easily by half a dozen lengths. The
Hero wasfour lengths in frontof Gratiano, with
Hassan close up fourth, Insurance and Pick
wick next, and Dundee last. Don John got
rid of his rider on leaving the straight. Time,
3 min. 26 sec.
RTCHMOND HANDICAP.

yards.
