health ofKing Alexander is encouraging the
intrigues of the Prinpo -of Montenegro and of
Prince Peter ICarageorgovitch to secure the
sucoessionto the throne. There aretworival ;j
families—that of Obreuovitch. the present
dynasty, and that -of Karagporge vitch—both
of which have borne sway in Sorvia during
the present century.. The Montenegrins are
of the same race and language as the Servians,
and hence Prince Nicholas of-Montenegro has
long looked forward to uniting the kingdom
and the principality uuderliis rule. The
chief ; obstacle to such a union is Austria,
whose, future advance to Salonica would bo
blocked in the eventuality indicated.]
