There have beea great floods at Sydney, and
there is still a strong east wind and slight
rain.

Bain continner. Heavy gale. Hirers rising
rapidly. Great damage is apprehended.
Communication beyond Goulburn inter
rupted.

Incessant rain for 80 hours. Heavy galea.
Penrith and Windsor partially flooded,
News f'om Fiji by the Burnett reports 180
inhabitants of Funnfute (?) oarried off by two
Spanish slayers, leaving only 90 persons on the
island.

Sydney, June 16.
The Prince Consort, Black Ball ship, has been
abandoned off Newcastle, and towed in to
Sydney dismasted.

The Balclutha, from Rockliampton, has been
driven into Jervis Bay short of coals, having
contended with tempestuous -weather.
The Braidwood diggings have been flooded,
and there has been loss of Ii<e.
The Mhitland River is 45 feet above ordi
nary level—higher than it has been ever known
to be before—and it is rising at the rate of eight
inches per hour.
There have been great- floods at Goulburn.
A fearful sea is running off Newcastle.
Commercial.—There have been speculative
purchases of tea at advanced rates.
Sydney, June 17.
The biddings at the wool sole were spirited,
and better rates were realized.
The Prince Consort, has arrived, and, since
being abandoned, has received no further
damage.
Communication with Queensland is still in
terrupted.
The Semaphore de 3£arseilles of the 28th
April stateB that the English Admiral atTnnis
had been ordered to place himself in communi
cation with the French Admiral.
