PAYMENT OP JUBOES.
TO THE EDITOR.
Sir—Will you kindly inform- me through the
medium of your columns whether Jurors receive
any payment to indemnify them for their loss of
time, and whether parties residing in the North
are alio wed a free passage by rail when summoned
to attend as Jurors in Adelaide. The loss of his
time at this-important season .of the year is a
sufficient grievance to the fanner, without being
liable to travelling charges and the other expenses
incidental to his residence in Adelaide during the.
time his presence is required.
Information on the above will oblige some of

Lfcor tue information of our correspondent we
eive_the following clause from Act I of 1862:—
'Every Juryman - summoned, and who shall
attend any Court to try civil issues and assess
damages, shall he entitled to receive ten shillings
per day, as compensation for his expenses, for
every day on which such Juryman shall be present
and punctual in his attendance, whether called in
any cause or not; and such compensation shall be
paid but of the general revenue if the sums con
tributed by suitors shall be insufficient."—Ed.]
