THE ALARM.
Wake to the bugle's call!
Wake from each cot and hall 1 Igale. w
Arm, arm! 'tis your standard that flaps in the
Hark! the distant loud boom
Of the cannon from sea
Gives the warning—"Guard home"—
Whosoe'er the foe he.
Sound, ay, sound the alarm! 'tis an enemy's sail;
'lis for plunder and conquest they come o'er the
wave.
But they'll nicet the bold heart and strong arm of
the brave.
Arm! 'tis the bugle's call!
Arm! arm!
March, as at steady drill;
March, with a right good will: Ttrue
Let the marksmen be cool, and their aim be so
That their shots shall all tell,
And their misses he few,
As their sires used so well
The long hows of tough yew.
Our rifles will show that invaders shall rue
Each attempt on our shores; and repulsed o'er the
wave,
Tlicj shall leave this fair laud as the right of the
brave.
March, with a right good will;
March, march!
