SLY GROG SELLING.
A Number of Convictions.
Several cases of alleged sly grog selling
?were heard in the -City Court yesterday.
.Tames Turpenr.y, who was defended by
Air. Soneiiberg, was fined £-;-, in default
three months' imprisonment, for selling
riquor without a licence on 2!)th August.
William Turpcnnv, for two similar offences
011 fflth and 30th August, was sentenced
to three months' imprisonment, on each
charge. On r.tfher charges of the samp
natni-e Alary Lea. John Hayes and .Ethel
White were fined £'25, iu default three
months' imprisonment, and Aland Ala-honey
was sentenced to three months' imprison
ment. A. number of cases was remanded
until to-day.
