'Apple.'?— To Make 'Apple Dowdy:
Stew until tender five or six large
apples, and sweeten to tastQ. Make
a pa.ste of one pint of flour, one tea
spoonful of baking powder, half tea
spooniul of salt. Sift together twice,
then add enough milk to make a soft
dough. Roll out one-inch in thickness,
add a little water to the apples in

scorching, then cut out the dough into
