REPLIES IN BRIEF.
A.J.B. (North Sydney) : A rebore
seems indicated but some type nonpass
oil ring may be found satisfactory.
W.H. (Coolamon): Scraper rings are
fitted according to the design of the
piston. It would be -no use fitting them
at the bottom of the piston if the gud
geon pin was hollow or the skirt split.
Next above the gudgeon pin is the usual
place and with the lower portion of the .
piston immediately under the groove
containing the ring bevelled off and
then drilled with about a dozen small
holes so as to pass the, oil back to the
inside of the piston. The bevel on the
1'ing at the top, or nearest to the pis
ton head, it is probable that you have
fitted the rings the wrong way up.
J.S.W. (Bathurst) : Car No. 3 would
be more suitable for your purpose. Nos.
1 and 2 would not give you the body
room and easy riding for lon^ tours.
J.E.W. (Roseville) : I have sent you a
letter covering your problems.
