TRAM HORSE SHOT.
Last Friday one of the horses
attached to the tram shied and
fell near the Port Elliot station.
The car passed over it and the
animal was so much injured that
it had to be shot.
RAILWAY MATTERS
Satisfaction is felt in the South
at the alteration of the railway
time table, but there is great dis
gust expressed at the refusal of
the department to increase the
rate of speed on the line.
ONKAPAR1NGA BOOTHS
The sale of the booths and
gates for the Onkaparinga Races
took place on Monday night in the
Woodside Institute. The total
sales realized £440 as against
£435 the previous year.
RAILWAY TRAFFIC
During the first week in March
9,42S passengers and 9761 tons of
goods were carried on the
Southern ' Railways. Receipts
were £1164 3/7 as against £732
6/10 for the corresponding week
of 1884.
