I MR. LANG
Bitter Attack on Mr.
Chifley
: SYDNEY, Friday:- The economic
conscription of the nation was the real
objective Of Prime Minister chifley,
Mr. J. T. Lang, M.H.R., former Labor
Premier, said in his paper 'Century'
Mr. Chifley, he said, had convinced
himself he needed two major powers,
a monopoly control of credit and
power to determine where people mus;
work. Ho cannot obtain the second
of these powers without also having
the first. That Is why Mr. Chifley
one of the most reactionary thlnkcrt
In the national Parliament, has become
the author of one or the most radical
moves In history.
Mr. Chifley wants the right to g.
still further than even Mr. Stevens,
former Premier of N.S.W., went in
1933. He wanta the right, first, to cre
ate unemployment In certain sections
of industry, and then to have tht
right to direct such displaced workers
to other industries.
